MOUNTAIN MUCKS

Mountain Mucks are handcrafted in Montebelluna (Italy) from the finest vegetable tanned full grain leather. Carefully welted the Norwegian style. The mountain mucks feature the unique layering system with a separate inner boot. This system makes the boots incredibly comfortable, reduced risk of blisters, increasing warmth and breathability. It makes drying much faster after a day out in the wet field when separated from the outer boot. The Inner boots also function as a great pair of slippers when inside. Treat your vegetable tanned leather Mucks with love and they will reward you with a lifelong friendship.

IN THE WARDROBE / AFTER USE

Remember that the leather in your is a natural material and will dry out and crack if not cared for. The mountain mucks feature the unique layering system with a separate inner boot. It makes drying much faster after a day out in the wet field when separated from the outer boot. A good habit is to always remove the inner boot after your adventures and let them dry separately in room temperature.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR MUCKS

STEP 1

› Clean your boots with a brush and warm water. If the dirt is stuck deeper in the leather you can use a leather soap to get a deeper cleaning. Dry the boots with a cotton cloth afterwards.

STEP 2

› Use a good quality leather wax to condition and waterproof your Mucks. Especially make sure to work the wax good into the seams. We suggest you use a boot grease containing natural beeswax – one supplier we can recommend is Huberd’s Boot Grease. Apply the grease with your fingers or a soft towel and let it soak into the the leather.

STEP 3

› To get a nice shine you can polish the boot with a leather-cleaning brush to finish off the job.

RE-SOLE YOUR MUCKS

Over time, the water repellency will be worn away. This will take place especially in vulnerable places like the seat, knees, shoulders, and elbows. To optimize the product’s abilities, it should be treated after each wash, or when the water repellency is not performing optimally. We recommend the use of environmentally friendly water repellents. Spray treatment ensures that only the outer side of the garment will be water repellent, which optimizes the moisture transportation of the product.
