On the Svalbard archipelago you’ll find a constellation of extremities; the darkest, the lightest, the wildest, the most desolate, the northernmost (New York Times). On this cluster of glacial islands halfway between the mainland and the North Pole, Svalbard is defined by confused weather—with highs and lows pulsing between rain and sun. This unpredictable landscape demands versatility from our clothing.

Arctic fox (Vulpes Lagopus), also known as the white fox, polar fox, or snow fox. In summer, they shed their white coat for more earthy tones such as brown and grey. Our new Vidda pants also changes color with the patina of use. Goes from bright white to dirty winter camouflage.

On day two we passed Alkhornet in Trygghamna. It’s a 428m mountain, towering close to the shore and rising sharply over streams and rocky terrain. Our small hut for the night the foreground… We were spotting fresh tracks of bears along the beach while collecting trash for the day. The currents washes loads of fish yarns, ropes, old shoes and drywood on the picturesque beaches. The mountain is home to over 10,000 pairs of breeding seabirds. The guano washed down serves like a fertile ground for the greenery with many Arctic wildflowers and herds of grazing reindeer.
